Grocery store receives counterfeit $20 bill

WARREN — Two employees of a Warren grocery store reported receiving a fake $20 bill on Sunday.

According to a police report, a couple came through the cashier’s line at Save A Lot on North Park Avenue about 6:50 p.m. to buy $36.47 in groceries. The man paid with two $10 gift cards and a $20 bill. After the cashier marked it, it appeared fake.

The couple left the store in a silver Chevrolet and drove westbound on Atlantic Street NW. The cashier was able to get a license plate number, the report states.
