56-year-old man guilty of trespassing

WARREN — A shoplifting suspect at a Warren dollar store has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of trespassing into a habitation.

Robert L. Freeman, 56, of Parkman Road NW, Warren, appeared Wednesday before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay, who will sentence the defendant after he undergoes a background investigation.

Freeman, who remains in custody, faces up to a year in prison.

Warren police reports show that officers answered a call about 8 p.m. March 10, 2020, at the Family Dollar Store on Youngstown Road SE. A man had earlier been shoplifting items, including diapers, and had returned to the store, the dispatch report states.

As officers arrived at the store, the suspect fled, running toward homes on Milton Avenue SE. The man was caught as he exited a house in the 2400 block of Milton, the report states. The man was thrown out of the house by the residents as he barged into the home saying he was being chased by police.
