Utility crews work to restore power

Ohio Edison worked Tuesday to restore service to customers without power due to an overnight winter storm.

There were about 64 customers left without power by 4 p.m. Tuesday, which was down from 4,500 customer outages in the Mahoning Valley, Lauren Siburkis, spokeswoman for the company, said.

According to the company website, all power should have been restored by 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Most of the outages experienced were in Trumbull County, “where the weight of the heavy, wet snow and ice caused many trees and large branches to fall” on powerlines and equipment, Siburkis said.
