WHAT: Township trustee meeting Monday

PRESENT: Ed Anthony, Kay Anderson and Ryan Yoho


• Approved a new three-year contract with the road department’s three employees effective Jan. 1. Anthony said the employees will receive a 1.5 percent pay increase in each year of the contract;

• Closed the Johnson Community Center to Jan. 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic and will then make a determination on whether to extend the closing for 2021;

• Approved receiving an additional $1,650 in CARES Act funding, which will be used for salaries for safety forces during the pandemic;

• Hired Robert Meeker as a part-time road department employee on an as-needed basis at $14 per hour, effective Nov. 30;

• Heard from Anthony a meeting will be held early 2021 by Eastgate Regional Council of Governments regarding the dams along the Mahoning River. Township trustees and residents do not want to see the Leavittsburg dam taken out and have addressed their concerns to the Trumbull MetroParks board and Eastgate;

• Declared property at 285 Homeview Ave. to be structurally defective and insecure and requiring it be demolished;

• Named Helen Parker and Nancy Bee to the fire dependency board in 2021;

• Canceled the Dec. 22 meeting.
