WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday

PRESENT: Julie Altawil, Ken Jones, Susan Brucoli, Brian Burkey and Denise Delida

The board:

• Heard from schools Superintendent Kevin Spicher that the district will see if the Destination Imagination program and activities will be held this school year. They were canceled last year due the coronavirus pandemic. In DI, teams of students create presentations using various skills. Officials said team advisers hope to be able to do things there this spring;

• Accepted the resignation of Elizabeh Odvar, nurse assistant, effective Nov. 20, after being with the district since 2018;

• Approved Marsha Snyder as a provider of Title I math services to students at the John F. Kennedy Lower Campus, paid 80 percent from the Title I funds and 20 percent from auxiliary funds;

• Increased work days to 260 for the district technology assistant.
