The board:

• Heard from Library Director Michelle Alleman on status of the $50,000 received in coronavirus relief funds with plans to update restrooms with touchless sinks, toilets and light switches with Mike Coates Construction to do the work at $26,000. Other funds will be used for cleaning supplies and masks. Alleman said the library will receive an extensive cleaning before reopening to the public on Tuesday following a temporary shutdown because a staff member had COVID-19. Alleman announced earlier this week that the library will remain open for curbside and lobby service only until further notice;

• Discussed plans for getting internet and WiFi service at the McKinley replica house for self-guided tours;

• Heard from Alleman of planned winter events including a Winter Reading Challenge. She said the annual McKinley Christmas in connection with other local groups will not be held this year but “To Go” items can be picked up at the library Dec. 5 to 12.
