Greenville man pleads in Brookfield chase
WARREN — A Greenville, Pa., man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony charge connected to a July 22 police chase from Brookfield to Warren Township.
Edward L. Hammons III, 22, will be sentenced by Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew Logan after the completion of a background investigation by the adult probation department. Hammons faces a maximum 18-month prison term on the charge of attempted failure to comply with the signal of a police officer.
The case deals with a vehicle Brookfield police found running stop signs and having no taillights early in the morning of July 22. Authorities chased the vehicle, which at times traveled 75 mph, through Vienna, Howland and the city of Warren before being blocked at the intersection of Diehl South and Park roads in Warren Township, police reports state.
