City leaders to address crime, violence

WARREN — Local community leaders, clergy and city council members plan to meet 10 a.m. today at the corner of Palmyra Road and Austin Avenue to address the increase in crime this year.

The city has had 15 murders this year, the most recent in September at the Hampshire House Apartments.

Officials at last week’s meeting discussed ways to help combat crime with an increased police presence in the community, a possible police substation for the Palmyra Road area and more resident involvement in reporting crimes.
