State agents raid Bazetta home

BAZETTA — State investigators and agents from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force searched a home in Bazetta on Wednesday.

Steve Irwin, spokesman for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and its Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirmed the search. Irwin said investigators were prompted by a tip from the Internet Crime Against Children group, a Cleveland group that collects data from internet service providers about possible sex crimes.

Reports show authorities searched a home in the 2300 block of Howland Wilson Road shortly before noon. Jail records show a 70-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after 1 p.m., but a Trumbull County Central District Court spokeswoman said no charges have been filed.
