Girard woman reports rape in Warren

WARREN — A 29-year-old Girard woman told police she believes she was sexually assaulted in Warren sometime between 4 and 7 p.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Clearwater Street by a person known to her.

The woman was interviewed by police at 2:30 a.m. Monday and described being at her cousin’s house when the man arrived. When he decided to leave, the man told her to get into his car, according to a police report. She told police she did so because she was afraid of him.

Shortly after they arrived at the man’s house, the woman said the man punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious. When she woke up, she was being pushed out of the house by the man and his family member.

As she was walking down the street, the victim started screaming. Police were called and she was picked up.

She asked a rape kit be completed. Later, she reported that her credit cards, house keys and cell phone were stolen, the report states.
