WARREN — The city’s fire and police departments are expected to hold promotional examinations for lieutenant positions before the end of the year.

Nine firefighters are expected to test to be considered for promotion to lieutenant. Testing is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Packard Music Hall, according to the Ohio Civil Service Commission.

Seven police officers are scheduled to test for a police promotional examination 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 30 at a location to be announced, according to the commission.

Any protests filed over results of the tests will be heard either on Nov. 17 or Nov. 18 at a location to be announced, according to the commission.

An oral assessment board hearing for the police promotional examination is scheduled Dec. 11.
