TikTok video makers pulled over near Center of the World
WARREN — Two men trying to become social media sensations near the Center of the World were pulled over last week, while one of them was arrested on a warrant out of Trumbull County Eastern District Court.
A Trumbull County sheriff’s deputy on patrol Aug. 7 on state Route 5 near Burnett Road in Leavittsburg was stopped at a traffic light when a woman pulled up next to the cruiser, telling the deputy someone just reached out from a passing car and grabbed her arm while they were stopped in traffic.
The woman described the vehicle as a black Chevrolet Malibu and it was the passenger who touched her, according to the sheriff’s report. She said the Malibu was traveling two vehicles behind them at the traffic light. The deputy quickly pulled over the suspected car and questioned the two men.
The men told the deputy they were making a TikTok video and part of the script required them to touch a stranger’s arm in another vehicle. The deputy told the men their actions were unacceptable and potentially criminal, the report states.
The passenger in the Malibu — Nathaniel Naypaver, 23, of 351 Florine Ave., Leavittsburg — was arrested on a probation violation on a DUI charge out of the Brookfield court. Naypaver, whose hearing is scheduled for Sept. 10 in Eastern District Court, was released that afternoon after being in custody about four hours, Trumbull County jail records state.
The driver of the Malibu, a 23-year-old Newton Falls man, was released at the scene with the warning.
