WHAT: Trustee meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Ed Anthony, Ryan Yoho and Kay Anderson


– Approved a bid of $129,093 from Shelley and Sands of North Jackson for the Sixth Street resurfacing project to be done by the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office. The resurfacing is an Ohio Public Works Commission project;

– Approved the fire chief, county building inspector or county health department to conduct an inspection of properties at 265 Homeview, 285 Homeview, and 301 Homeview;

– Declared properties as nuisances due to high grass, refuse and debris at 3780 Meadowbrook Drive, 3805 Winters Road, 908 North Leavitt Road, 3721 Rio Vista Road, 4010 Brookside Drive, 3374 Hewitt Gifford Road and 4075 Leavitt Drive;

– Approved an agreement with LaBrae schools for providing a resource officer with schools covering 67 percent of salary for 183 days;

– Heard from resident Darryl Parker of Miller Street concerned with condition of property at corner of Miller and Highland. Anthony said plans are to get it demolished;

– Heard from resident Chris Gray of Templeton Road of cable and phone lines still down on Templeton Road near U.S. Route 422. Officials said they were knocked down by a recent storm and will be addressed;

– Changed the compensation of Dannette Antes, custodian at Johnson Community Center, from $15 per hour to $900 per month;

– Accepted the resignation of William Kohn III and removed him from the EMS roster as a part-time paramedic;

– Accepted the resignation of Oleta Bailes from the zoning commission board effective July 17;

– Approved amendment to the Johnson Community Center responsibilities allowing for the groundskeeper to brush hog high grass at the property;

– Set tire collection 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 7 at the road department building and regular spring cleanup noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 and 7. Senior citizens spring cleanup is Aug. 3 to 5, and residents must call the road department at 330-898-6188 to register.
