No identity yet on remains found by kayakers in McDonald on July 5s
WARREN — The chief investigator for the Trumbull County Coroner’s office said the office has not come up with the identity of the person whose decomposing remains were found by kayakers July 5 in the Mahoning River near the McDonald Steel plant.
The staff has gone through its database of cold cases.
Kathy Meszaros said a DNA test cannot be performed on the remains because there is nothing to go on. The body appeared to be a small female with clothing on it, according to the Trumbull County 911 report.
Meszaros said nothing much can be done in the case unless someone steps forward with new information.
