Niles woman accused of having sex with student
YOUNGSTOWN — Sarah M. Barnes, 28, of Seneca Street in Niles, a former teacher for Jackson-Milton Local Schools, was indicted last week on three counts of sexual battery that allege she engaged in sexual conduct with a student.
Barnes, also known as Sarah McCree, is alleged to have committed the crimes between December 2015 and June 2016, the indictment states.
School officials became aware of the allegations earlier this year when a former student complained about inappropriate text messages from Barnes. She was placed on paid administrative leave but then resigned, officials said.
