Museum director resigns position

NILES — The director of the McKinley Memorial Museum is stepping down after two years working at the museum in Niles.

Jim Yuhasz, president of the board for the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Association, said Amber Farris submitted her resignation last week. She served the past two years as museum director. Yuhasz said he was not sure what Farris’ plans are, but the board appreciated her work.

The board plans to post the position to find a new director, he said.

The museum, like many, were not able to be open this year to the public during the coronavirus pandemic, Yuhasz said.
