Corvette races through city
WARREN — City police on Tuesday afternoon ended a car chase for safety reasons because a blue Chevrolet Corvette was traveling in excess of 80 to 100 mph through the downtown area.
About 5:20 p.m., officers spotted the speeding car traveling eastbound about 50 mph near the intersection of East Market Street and Austin Avenue SW. As the cruiser gave chase, it was determined the Corvette wasn’t going to stop as it approached West Market and Tod Avenue. Officers determined the car crossed the center line as it continued on West Market through downtown. As it approached Elm Road, the car passed four to five vehicles and officers decided to terminate the pursuit.
Officers said the Corvette was last seen driving on East Market east of Trumbull Regional Medical Center, the report states.
