Woman accuses autistic daughter in stabbing
WARREN — A 33-year-old Warren woman was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center Wednesday afternoon after she told police she was stabbed in the arm by her 13-year-old autistic daughter, according to a city police report.
Officers were called to a home in the 3200 block of Clearwater Street NW shortly before 4 p.m., the report states.
The woman, who had a small stab wound to the right tricep area, told officers she had no idea why the young teen would do this. While officers restrained the girl, the report states she was kicking the ground and kicking things over in the house. The weapon, a small steak knife, was recovered by officers.
Both parents told officers the girl regularly sees a doctor from Akron Children’s Hospital, and officers tried to contact the physician. The girl later was transported to the Trumbull hospital in a separate ambulance, the report states.
