Pedestrian killed in Mespo crash

MESOPOTAMIA — One man is dead following a vehicle versus pedestrian crash Friday evening on state Route 534.

Robert Miller, 60, of Mesopotamia, was walking east across Route 534 near milepost 25 around 6:10 p.m. when he was struck by Richard Cappella Jr., 51, of Warren, who was traveling north on Route 534 in a white 2009 Ford E-350.

Miller was taken by Farmington Fire Department to University Hospital-Geauga, where he died from his injuries.

State Route 534 was closed for a half hour following the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
