Howland CARES fund at $221,553
HOWLAND — Township trustees on Wednesday established a special fund for $221,553 received from the federal CARES Act.
The money is to reimburse the township for unforeseen expenses caused by effects of the COVID-19 pandemic from March to December 2020.
The township can only use the money for pandemic-related expenses and will be required to return what they do not use, trustees said.
The board also Wednesday accepted the resignation of part-time firefighter / EMT Raymond Manofsky. Manofsky was part-time with the department for 10 years, but was hired full-time last year by the Warren Fire Department, fire Chief James Pantalone said.
