Board OKS Fairhaven projects
NILES — The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities at a recent special meeting approved two projects to be done this summer at district buildings.
The board approved Prout Boiler, Heating and Welding Inc. at $789,900 for renovations at Fairhaven School in Niles, which includes installing the HVAC system and new drop ceilings in hallways.
Superintendent Ed Stark said this is the first time the HVAC has been replaced in 50 years with the original system still being used. He said the new ceiling will help with new lighting.
Also approved was a contract with Daniel Terreri and Sons Inc. at $52,572 for sidewalk repairs at the Champion Workshop. Stark said the sidewalks are cracked and have become unsafe.
