Police called to park for report of shooting

WARREN — Warren city police were called out shortly before 10 p.m. Monday to Quinby Park off Austin Avenue SW for a shooting.

Seven cruisers were parked on the road and in the parking lot of the park, which was roped off with crime scene tape. Police could be seen using flashlights checking the grassy area south of the park building. A white car was parked in the grass and was within the crime tape area.

Residents across the street said there had been a party at the park earlier in the evening that included several children. Balloons were taped at the entrance of the park.

A Trumbull County 911 spokesman said they received a call around 9:45 p.m. of a shooting at the park, but were informed the person who was injured was taken by private car to Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

The name of the victim and his or her condition were not available.
