Some Cortland park facilities to reopen
CORTLAND — Cortland pickleball, tennis, and baseball and softball facilities will reopen Tuesday, according to an update from Mayor Deidre Petrosky.
“In order for these areas to remain open, visitors must follow the 6-foot social distancing requirement,” Petrosky said.
Because of the high costs associated with compliance of Gov. Mike DeWine’s mandates for frequent cleaning and disinfecting of park facilities, restrooms and playground facilities will remain closed for the forseeable future, subject to change with further state guidelines.
The city also will be removing picnic tables and bleachers, and entry gates to courts will be chained open. Water fountains remain turned off, and the Pearl Park Splash Pad will not open this season.
City administration buildings are still closed to the public.
