WHAT: Board of Education special meeting May 22
PRESENT: John Saganich, Thomas Hannon, Jody Klase, Joseph Cappuzzello and Donna Shields
• Heard from Treasurer Megan Titus on the district’s five-year forecast that the district will see $74,000 in state foundation funding cuts for the current fiscal year with the amount of cuts expected for next fiscal year that starts in July not known. She said the district receives $5 million each year in state funding, with an expected 10 percent decrease in that amount for next year. Titus said expected deliquencies likely will lead to a decrease in property taxes;
• Reported on projects that were able to be completed this school year with permanent improvement funds. Titus said work included boiler repairs, HVAC maintenance, roof maintenance, LED lighting installation at the high school and and drainage upgrades to the elementary school playground.
