Community Stars book inside today’s newspaper
WARREN — A magazine featuring the stories of 12 Trumbull County residents, selected for their volunteerism and dedication to charitable work, is included inside today’s Tribune Chronicle.
The 12 were named this year’s Community Stars — an annual event in which the Tribune Chronicle and Trumbull 100 honor about a dozen members of the community for their amazing good deeds.
The magazine was printed in March and was intended for distribution the day after an annual banquet was to be held in their honor.
Unfortunately, this year’s Community Stars event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While plans still exist to host the banquet at a later date, the magazine and the stories of this year’s honorees are being released today without further delay.
The 19th annual event was orginally scheduled for March 18 in Warren. People who had already have purchased tickets for the Community Stars banquet should hold onto them. They will be honored when the event is rescheduled.
This year’s honorees are: Cindy Angelo of Warren; Beverly Gartland of Warren; Basil and Mary Lou Jarrett of Cortland; Pastor George Johnson of Warren; Virginia Logan of Kinsman; Terry Mascioli of Cortland; Ellie Monchak and Jean Potashnik, both of Warren; John Payiavlas of Warren; John Streitferdt of Warren; and Carole Wiley of Cortland.
