Sex offender sent back to prison

WARREN — A Warren man who received a five-year prison term in 2009 for a rape conviction will be going back to prison after he was convicted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Asa D. Jones, 29, of West Park Drive, was sentenced to an indefinite two- to three-year prison term Thursday by Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice. Jones had pleaded guilty to failure to notify the sheriff of a change of address charge on March 13, court records show.

Jones’ attorney David Rouzzo said his client had been following the registering procedures for the last 10 years, but did not do so after he had moved late last year.
