Parking spaces to be eliminated
WARREN — The Western Reserve Transit Authority will begin offering Monday through Friday fixed route bus service within the city limits as of March 2, leading to the elimination of some downtown parking spaces.
Buses will come from downtown Youngstown into a downtown Warren hub. Seven routes will branch out into Trumbull County, according to WRTA officials.
The new WRTA routes will use the intersection of High Street and Park Avenue in downtown Warren as a primary access point. The new bus stops will require the elimination of nine on-street parking spaces on High Street, according to Warren Safety Service Director Eddie Colbert.
The city’s operations department will be painting pavement markings on High Street for the new bus stops this weekend. On-street parking no longer will be permitted in this area, Colbert said.
