Man found with gun in Packard Park with teen and smoking marijuana

WARREN — A city resident was arrested after he was caught in Packard Park at 11:49 p.m. Monday in a car with a teenage girl smoking what was identified as marijuana, according to a police report.

Erinn J. Wiley, 20, 3220 Merriweather St. NW, pleaded not guilty to carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle during a jail arraignment before Warren Municipal Court Judge Thomas Gysegem on Tuesday. He was assigned a $3,500 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 10, according to court records.Wiley was seen sitting in a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu with a 16-year-old girl after the park closed, according to a police report. When an officer approached the car, Wiley could be seen placing an unidentified object underneath the front seat.

Because the officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle, Wiley and the teen were asked to get out of the vehicle, the police report states.

A Taurus Spectrum .38 caliber pistol with ammunition were found in the vehicle. The weapon and ammunition has a value of about $380, the report states.
