Shoplifter bites Macy’s employee

NILES — An employee of Macy’s in the Eastwood Mall complex is pressing charges against a woman who bit her after the employee tried to stop the woman from shoplifting, according to a police report.

The employee, of McDonald, works loss prevention at the store and was attempting to stop a female from stealing merchandise when she was bitten on her arm. The report also states bite marks were visible.

The employee told police she did not require medical assistance and that she was going to the hospital immediately to get a tetanus shot.

In the scuffle, the employee was able to get all the merchandise back, the report states. There was footage of the altercation, and officers advised the employee to bring the footage to the Niles Police Department.
