What: Village Council meeting Wednesday
Present: Tarry Alberini, Zachary Svette, John Baryak, Lyle Waddell, Sandra Breymaier and Mayor Ken Kline
• Heard from Maj. Shaun Robinson of Camp James Garfield in Ravenna, who discussed plans for adding more open firing ranges and other improvements at the 22,000-acre site used by 11,500 soldiers annually for training. He said work has begun and when the ranges are completed in 2021, local police departments also will use the site;
• Approved a $500 donation to high school student Samantha Foor to attend Washington Youth Summit on the Environment as a national youth delegate. She said she will learn aboout issues affecting the nation such as water conservation;
• Heard from finance director Anna Musson that a Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council grant was used for a cellphone charging station at the municipal building;
• Heard from village manager David Lynch about working with American Municipal Power on electric rate reductions and other cost savings.
