What: Township trustees meeting Tuesday

Present: Doug Seemann, Ramon French and Mark Webb


• Approved a pay adjustment for road supervisor Greg Marazzi from $32,400 to $35,568 per year based on a ruling from the U.S. Department of Labor to raise the “standard salary level” from the currently enforced level of $455 to $684 per week. Officials said the position was underpaid based on national levels and there was no overtime because of it being a salaried position;

• Increased pay for fire department employees, with firefighter / emergency medical technician positions increasing from $10 to $12 per hour and firefighter / paramedic increasing from $11 to $14 per hour;

• Approved three fire lieutenant positions at $100 per month. Named David West and Brandon Quiggle to two of the positions;

• Heard from French that the local group planning to open a historical museum inside the former zoning office building will hold informational meetings in March and April. The group is collecting memorabilia from local residents to display. A tentative grand opening is set for early June;

• Approved purchasing body armor for the fire department;

• Are seeking to fill a vacancy on the board of zoning appeals. Those interested can contact the fiscal officer at township hall.
