Kent gets $150,000 project grant
KENT — Kent State University received a $175,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for its augmented reality project that will honor the 50th anniversary of the May 4, 1970, shooting that left four students dead and nine injured.
KSU will use the funding to develop a digital program that allows visitors to overlay historical images of the campus at the time of the shooting onto today’s landscape. It was one of 32 National Endowment for the Arts grants awarded Friday to increase public and private investment in museums, libraries and cultural centers.
