Family displaced by morning fire
WARREN — No one was injured in a Friday morning fire on the city’s west side.
The fire department responded at 9:08 a.m. to a home at 199 Vernon Ave. NW. Fire officials said they believe the fire began on the home’s first floor and spread into the attic. It caused an estimated $30,000 in damage.
Four adults were in the two-story, wood frame, single-family home at the time of the fire, and two children already had gone to school. The family’s pet dog died in the fire.
The American Red Cross already has contacted the family. The home’s occupants called Trumbull County 911 to report the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
