Beach Boys to play outdoor show

There’s no beach, but it is outdoors. The Beach Boys will play the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Aug. 27.

The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 RIAA platinum and gold record awards. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers also were honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

With more than five decades of touring under their belts, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history. The band played Stambaugh Auditorium in 2018 and a sold-out show in 2015 at Packard Music Hall. And the band is no stranger to outdoor shows in the Mahoning Valley. It headlined a concert in 2002 at Eastwood Field in Niles
