Woman sentenced to 30 days for abuse of baby’s corpse

WARREN — A woman who left her stillborn child in a garbage bag in the garage was sentenced to 30 days in jail and given five years of probation.

Lisa Marie Jordan, 31, 1056 Kenmore Ave., was sentenced Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

She pleaded guilty in October to gross abuse of a corpse and possession of drugs in connection with the July 2018 incident.

During an earlier interview with police, Jordan said she attempted to cause a self-induced abortion, but was unsuccessful.

Jordan was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center on July 30 due to an illness, according to police records It was then discovered she had given birth five days earlier.

Jordan initially told police investigators that she had miscarried. She left the her baby’s body in the garage at 1056 Kenmore.

An autopsy by the Cuyahoga County Cororner’s office determined that the eight-month-term baby had traces of oxycodone and morphine in his system.
