WHAT: Township trustees meeting Monday

PRESENT: Rex Fee, Brian Bugos and Doug Emerine


• Received word the township will receive an Ohio Public Works Commission grant for the $277,066 Stewart Drive paving and repair to the bridge on the road that crosses over Young’s Run. Fee said the project will be done in 2020, with the township contributing $68,823, the county contributing $58,627 and the rest coming from a grant;

• Will schedule a meeting early next year with local architectural firms, including GPD Engineers, Thomas Fok and Associates, and Baker, Bednar, Snyder and Associates to go over proposals for creating a park and future land use for the township. Trustees have previously discussed establishing a township park. There is a Trumbull County MetroParks park in the township;

• Approved Vanessa Teuscher as assistant to the fiscal officer at $10 per hour not to exceed 500 hours per year retroactive to Sept. 16;

• Received $150 from Vesey Carpet Care for providing cleaning of the cemetery chapel. The township had received a grant from Ohio Department of Commerce for a new roof and carpet cleaning at the chapel;

• Received a scrap tire grant of $2,072 from Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District for the recycling program;

• Heard from fire Chief John Hickey that an emrrgency medical service vehicle hit two deer on the bypass and had $1,614 in damage;

• Are waiting to hear from Ohio Department of Transportation over getting a sound wall for streets near the Route 5 / 82 bypass. Fee said a survey was done of the residents in the neighborhood and also a sound study to determine the level of noise;

• Set the end-of-year meeting for 3:30 p.m. Dec. 18.
