Gunshots cause damage to car

WARREN — A 21-year-old city resident reported someone shot at a vehicle at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, as she and two others were sitting in the 2004 Dodge Neon in the backyard of 3146 Randolph St. NW.

City police found six 9 mm shell casings. The car had about $2,000 worth of damage. No arrests have been made.

Township, police fail to reach pact

HUBBARD — Township trustees and the police union have not reached agreement after meeting Monday morning to negotiate a contract.

Because of an impasse, the Fraternal Order of Police will move forward with its factfinding while the trustees continue to discuss other public safety options, such as turning policing over to the county sheriff. The township will have a town hall meeting soon on these issues, officials said.
