Coroner does autopsy on two area John Does
WARREN — The Trumbull County Coroner’s office performed autopsies Thursday on two John Does — one the pedestrian victim of a crash at West Market and South streets Wednesday evening and the other an unidentified man who was found dead early Wednesday morning on the front porch of 147 Forest St. NW.
A spokeswoman for the coroner’s office said fingerprints from both deceased men were sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification in Richfield for positive identification. She said results should come back in a day or two.
The victim of the 6:35 p.m. accident was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center, where he later was pronounced dead. Warren police were still trying to piece together details of the accident involving an SUV driven by an elderly woman who immediately called police, according to reports.
Witnesses said they could see the man’s shoes still in the roadway, but police officers still were trying to determine which way the man in dark clothing was crossing the wide intersection that also includes Highland Avenue SW. Police officers were at the scene until well after 8 p.m. Wednesday with the intersection roped off.
In the case of the other John Doe, an officer spotted a man lying on the porch of the vacant home at 147 Forest St. just before 2:30 a.m., the police report states. The report lists the injuries as “unknown,” but Lt. Bryan Holmes said there was no blood at the scene.
Holmes said the investigations in both incidents are continuing.
