WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday

The board:
• Removed two jet dust collectors, a laminator and an HP color laser printer to be scrapped;
• Added a 2020 Thomas 72-passenger bus, valued at $90,191, to the inventory;
• Approved a shared services agreement with the Trumbull County Educational Service Center for $100,773.69;
• Approved student budgets: cheerleaders ($44,735.42), Class of 2023 ($2,700), HUB/Publications ($5,150.91) and drama club ($25,971.50);
• Approved a resolution for the refunding of bonds, not to exceed $12.9 million, for classroom facility improvement;
• Approved the Trumbull County Educational Service Center and Hubbard Exempted Village School District classified substitute teacher list for the school year;
• Approved LeeAnn Wilson-Lawrence, Cynthia Nicholson, Eileen Mealy and Theodore Myers as substitute bus drivers for the school year;
• Approved a resolution authorizing the Ohio Schools Council to advertise and receive bids on behalf of the board for the cooperative purchase of a 71-passenger bus chassis and body;
• Hired Patricia Wirtz as assistant swim coach ($15/hour) and Hannah Williams as lifeguard ($9.40/hour) for the community pool;
• Accepted the resignations of Karen Cassano, middle school teacher; Helene Jordan, middle school teacher; and Bonnie Blatt, bus driver;
• Hired Karen Cassano, Maryann Smiley and Kayla Welsh as home instruction tutors at $30 per hour;
• Approved a $500 stipend to Debbie Pysher to facilitate a fall districtwide book study;
• Approved Maria Bayuk, Shannon Berkebile, Kim Bodak, Lisa Cricks, Laura McCleery, Nick McGinnis Dan Scarmack and Wendy Shellito as mentors;
• Approved Tom Kettering as a ticket seller;
• Approved four coaches for softball and 13 coaches for boys basketball.
