What: City of Girard city council meeting on Monday

Present: Reynald Palone, Larry Steiner, George Eicher, Thomas Grumley, Joseph Shelby, John Moliterno and Louis Adovasio

Council:

• Received a request by Mayor James Melfi to begin the process of drafting legislation to regulate clothing donation boxes in the city;

• Authorized the director of public service to enter into an agreement with S.E.T. Excavating & General Contracting of Lowelville for the construction of soccer fields at Liberty Memorial Park for a price not to exceed $126,524.83;

• Declared properties located at 40 S. Davis St. and 415 S. Davis St. as unsafe and ordered them to be demolished with funding through the FY2013 CDBG Community Development / Neighborhood Revitalization Program;

• Established a vacant property registry for the city;

• Established salary of city council members at $7,600 a year, effective with the term starting Jan.1, 2016;

• Established salary of city council president at $7,601 a year, effective with the term starting Jan.1, 2016.
