New legal clinic coming to Warren

WARREN — A free legal clinic is coming to Warren this fall to provide assistance to local people facing court proceedings without an attorney, primarily in financial and housing issues, which are cases that don’t allow for a court-appointed lawyer.

The Clarence Darrow Court Clinic will be run by Community Legal Aid, which won one of 15 nationwide competitive grants through Legal Services Corporation Pro Bono Innovations Fund to establish the clinic, according to a news release.

The clinic will be officially announced at the Trumbull County Bar Association’s annual awards dinner 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at Vernon’s Cafe in Niles, where more details are expected to be revealed.
