Lordstown teacher stable at hospital
LORDSTOWN — A Lordstown High School teacher who was hit by a van last week while riding her bike to school on Salt Springs Road is stable and recovering at the hospital, a family member said.
Daniel Bloomberg, a spokesman for the family of Jenna Barvitski, said his sister-in-law, who is a music and choir teacher at the high school, is “stable and recovering.”
“The family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers. In the best interest of her recovery, only immediate family is to visit her at the hospital,” he said in a statement Sunday.
Barvitski, 33, was hit by a van after 7 a.m. Wednesday while bicycling west in the 1900 block of Carson Salt Springs Road. Barvitski was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. A crash investigation is continuing.
