Rally seeks hospital’s razing

WARREN — Members of the Northside Neighborhood Association will gather outside the former St. Joseph Riverside Hospital on Tod Avenue NW at 10 a.m. Saturday in an effort to spur action to get the long-abandoned building torn down.

Guest speakers expected to attend are state Sen. Sean O’Brien, D-Bazetta, and state Rep. Michael O’Brien, D-Warren, representatives from U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan’s office, Warren Mayor Doug Franklin, Safety Service Director Enzo Cantalamessa and community residents.

The group said it hopes to put the spotlight on the hospital so that state and federal government money can be secured to demolish the building.
