Official charged after fatal crash
BOARDMAN — The Columbiana County recorder is expected to be charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Theresa A. Bosel, 48, of Salem, drove left of center Monday on Western Re-serve Road. She crashed into a vehicle that struck another vehicle, killing Cecil Chamberlain, 69, of Carlsbad, Calif., according to Lt. Brad Bucey of the Canfield post of the Ohio Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
Bosel is expected to be charged with driving left of center and failure to wear a seat belt, too. The vehicular manslaughter charge is a first-degree misdemeanor, which carries a maximum possible penalty of six months in the county jail.
Chamberlain’s passenger, 66-year-old Roberta Chamberlain, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bosel and the people in the other car were not injured.
