Lakeview grad dies in Colo. crash

A Lakeview High School graduate was killed in a rollover crash Friday near Steamboat Springs, Colo., according to police and family members.

Kent Harrison, 40, a 1997 graduate of Lakeview, has lived in Vail, Colo., for the past two years, according to his mother, Carol Harrison. She said he was a ski instructor and planned to travel the country in his motorhome.

Colorado State Police said Harrison was driving a motorhome along Colorado Highway 131 when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road while attempting to maneuver a turn. The motorhome struck a cluster of shrubs, then rolled onto its roof. Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene inside the vehicle, troopers said.

The patrol is still investigating, but police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash, a police report states. The road was wet at the time of the crash because of rain storms in the area.
