WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday

The board:

l Approved the MP Vector 3D printer valued at $400 received by Hubbard Elementary School from the GE Additive Education Program;

l Approved the Trumbull County Educational Service Center and the Hubbard Exempted Village School District 2019-20 certified and classified substitute lists;

l Approved appointing chairman Rocky Adams as the delegate and Tony Pantone Jr. as the alternate to the 2019 OSBA annual business meeting;

l Approved the agreement between the Andco Inc., doing business as All Star Driving School, and the school district, effective Sept. 1 through June 30, 2022;

l Approved the resignation of Josh Forsythe Kraken, head swim coach, effective Aug. 2; Abigail Schuster, lifeguard, effective today; and Emily Malmisur, seventh-grade volleyball coach, effective immediately;

l Approved the agreement between the school district and the Suburban School Transportation Company Inc. for the 2019-20 school year;

l Approved 14 ticket sellers for 2019-20 school year;

l Approved hiring Cara Bornemiss as seventh-grade volleyball coach at $2,676.72; Ralph Streb as head middle school wrestling coach at $3,513.20; Michael Adamson as volunteer middle school wrestling coach; Rod Green-amyer as head girls varsity track coach at $5,520.74; Don Gosney as head boys varsity track coach at $5,520.74; John W. Schiraldi as head varsity baseball coach at $5,186.15; John R. Schiraldi as assistant varsity baseball coach at $4,182.38; Tim Schiraldi as junior varsity baseball coach at $4,182.38; and Khaled Kassem as volunteer boys soccer coach;

l Approved the contract modification for Cheryl Witt, bus aide, from four hours at $19.44 per hour to 5.5 hours for the 2019-20 school year, as per OAPSE negotiated agreement. Her rate had not been finalized as of the meeting;

l Approved the unpaid leave of absence for Dan-ielle Leigh through Sept. 13 as per Hubbard Education Association-negotiated agreement;

l Approved hiring Ra-chel Cline, music teacher for vocal music for the 2019-20 school year, two periods per day at $7,427.90 plus a supplemental amount of $892.24 as per HEA-negotiated agreement;

l Approved Rachel Cline, Mary Davis and Kay-la Panning as advisers for the 2019-20 school year, per HEA-negotiated agreement;

l Approved a one-year supplemental contract to Angela Yohman, Hubbard Middle School social studies teacher at $46,341 for the 2019-20 school year;

l Approved a one-year supplemental contract to Katie Duchek, Hubbard Middle School language arts teacher at $33,459 for the 2019-20 school year, as per HEA-negotiated agreement;

l Approved the contract modification for Tracey Vallas, from MA Step 16 to MA+30 Step 16 at $64,743, as per HEA-negotiated agreement;

l Approved the contract modification for Jaclyn DelMonte, from BA Step 4 to BA+15 Step 4 at $42,660, as per HEA-negotiated agreement;

l Approved the resolution on complimentary passes for faculty and staff to attend athletic events.

WHAT: Township trustee meeting Aug. 12

PRESENT: Roger Peterson, John Beran and Jason Gwinn

Trustees:

l Heard from Gwinn, who has met with Ohio Department of Natural Resources representatives about the Dunkerton Road flooding issues to see what can be done. Additional follow-up meetings will occur;

l Discussed options for addressing drainage issues on Flagg Road West;

l Heard from Peterson he was awarded an ODNR grant for firefighter gear and equipment totaling $4,551 with no local matching funds required;

l Discussed a cooperative agreement for a tar truck replacement;

l Reported swings have been removed from the township park due to wear, but will be replaced;

l Discussed plans for a chip and seal program for roads.
