Animal cruelty case completed

WARREN — A woman was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail after pleading guilty in June to three counts of animal cruelty, according to Trumbull County Common Pleas Court records.

Tabitha Ballew, 24, Reo Court, Warren, is expected to be released in February.

Ballew was arrested after police in March found a malnourished dog in her home eating one of two dead dogs, according to a police report.

Officers immediately noticed “a strong pungent stench that emitted from inside of the apartment,” according to a police report. Clothing, dog feces and urine was on the floor of every room in the apartment, the report noted.
