Warren women’s cars hit by bullets

WARREN — Two women in separate incidents both reported their cars were struck by bullets from unknown sources as they drove through the city Sunday.

A Francis Avenue resident, 35, reported that between 8:08 p.m. and 8:29 p.m. Sunday, someone fired a gun hitting the rear driver’s side door of her 2016 Chevrolet Impala.

She told officers she was on Niles Road and turned onto Colonial Street when she heard a loud “tink” noise that startled her. She discovered the bullethole when she arrived at home.

In a separate incident, a woman, 26, was traveling east on Summit Street at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, when she twice heard a loud boom. She looked back and saw her rear passenger side window shattered. Her rear driver’s side window also was shattered.

The driver told officers she saw a burgundy Ford speed past her vehicle after the windows were shattered.
