• Announced the Back to School event is set 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at the township park;

• Are looking for people to be on the zoning board of appeals. Those interested should submit letter to the township trustees:

• Appointed the following people to zoning commission board: Anthony DeJacimo to finish term that expires December 2019, Alexis Dittrich to finish term ending December 2020 and Terry Kelly to finish term ending December 2021. The zoning commission named Doug Jones as chairman, DeJacimo as vice chairman and Dittrich as secretary;

• Approved $2,100 as the local share combined with a $6,000 Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation grant to purchase an $8,000 device for the fire department to roll up and drain the fire hose;

• Reminded residents they need to post their house number at the road so safety forces can find their home in an emergency. House numbers can be purchased from the fire department or zoning inspector. Officials said this has been a problem for many townships, hindering fire departments from finding a house;

• Heard from Tietz there are concerns for safety vehicles not being able to get through on driveways that are set up as winding routes with many turns. He said when such style drives are put in, fire crews can’t get through and end up having to extend the hoses for long lengths.
