WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Paul Hovis, Frank Parke and Ted Webb


• Accepted a $2,879 Ohio Department of Public Safety EMS grant for EMS equipment and a $500 OTARMA More grant for mobile directional safety signs for the road, police and fire departments;

• Accepted 14 MARCS portable radios and charge units valued at $14,000 from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction;

• Hired Callie Mallory as a part-time firefighter / paramedic at $14 per hour and Jeremy Gless, Roger Bruce and Steven Dixon as part-time firefighters / EMTs at $11 per hour, all on an as-needed basis and on one-year probationary period;

• Hired Chance Hanshaw as a part-time field training officer in the police department at $8.55 per hour on an as-needed basis;

• Accepted a donation of two Verkada security cameras valued at $2,000 from an anonymous local business owner. The cameras will be used in the Millennium business area;

• Approved Hudson Communications at $480 to fix the township’s tornado siren;

• Were informed Fallehn Drive will be paved through Issue 1 funds in 2020 with a 31 percent local match;

• Purchased a magnetic locator for the road department at $539 paid from the cemetery fund.
